Wednesday Want List: Jackets

Good Morrow my lovely readers! I have decided that I am cold this week even though I am in California and I have my A/C on because it's 77 degrees in my house. Yes, I know, so tragic while the rest of you freeze your butts off in subzero temperatures. But hey, why not have something pretty to look at?
Wednesday Want List: Winter Jackets

I mean, don't get me wrong I love that I can go out in shorts and a t-shirt, wear flip lops and not have my teeth chatter. But you know what I miss? Cuddling in jackets and struggling to get warm, cupping hot chocolate with floating marshmellows at the top to heat my hands. So I present to you, 6 jackets I wish I owned or could even get away with wearing in L.A while all of you get to actually, I don't know, wear a jacket?
  1. First up is a full length A-line Double Breasted Navy Blue Trench Coat that is absolutely stunning. My favorite part about this jacket? The belt at the waist and flare over the hips. It would be slimming on anyone and paired with brown knee boots and jeans it is casual. But throw it over a dress and it's exceptionally dressy. You know me, I like versatile.
  2. I'm not a big fan of brown. Kind of reminds me of poop. But this? If it's poop it is definitely the shit. Made by the Fashion God Alexander McQueen, it rings in at a whopping $4,225 (£2,575) and can be purchased at Harrods. Not that I'll ever have the money to buy it but if ever anyone would create a brown jacket I like it would be McQueen.
  3. If you didn't expect a black jacket to be in this you haven't been paying attention. You should know I love expensive things. But I've got Crystal taste on a tap water budget. This jacket is no exception. It's a lovely black wool jacket from Givenchy with toggle fastening. Gotta love those toggles. It also has a silver-tone curb chain trim at the waist to give it a more feminine shape. It's on sale for $2,689 from $3,361 at farfetch.com
  4. This lovely green coat from ModCloth, is titled The Importance of Being Forest Coat. Don't you just love their creative naming? It's one of my favorite things about ModCloth; those punny titles. This coat, slightly more reasonable but not reasonable enough to tempt me into purchasing it when there is no need for it in California but for you my lovely penguins, it's a steal at $153. The high neck will keep you super warm and look lovely behind your trendy scarves and it has the same feminine shape at the navy blue trench from above!
  5. Now, you had to see this coming. If you didn't you don't know me at all and I am offended. Black, studs, expensive? This to die for Burberry Brit Cotton & Leather Trench Coat with Studded Trim is a ridiculous $2,485 but it's oh so pretty. It's on my most-wanted-but-not-needed list, you know the one I send to Santa every year with my ridiculously priced fashion requests. I must have been naughty this year because I got nothing, not even coal for Christmas. Rude. Also, are you even paying attention to what Burberry is doing with their mens line? I watched the Burberry Prorsum Menswear Autumn/Winter 2014 show (you can watch it here) last week and if I had a boyfriend he'd be in nothing but those jackets. I can't wait to see the Spring/Summer '14 lines, especially the mens line because my future ex-husband is one of the main models (P.S he's the hottie blonde with the shades in the front row next to Tinie Tempah in the live stream I linked to)! YUMMY.
  6. This last one is really just a gas. I saw it and immediately was like "this is going on the collage!" It is titled the "JAWBREAKER MOULIN ROUGE VAMPIRE JACKET" and it is very vampire-like indeed. Could you imagine someone wearing this to keep warm in winter and not as a costume? I love the goth culture and know that there are people who do wear these things for everyday instead of just as a kind of "dress up" but it is definitely not practical to wear for warmth. It sure is pretty though and actually the most affordable jacket on here at $82.

That's it for this weeks WWL. Let me know if you have ideas for next time because I definitely could use them!

Where would you wear these jackets?
What would you pair them with?

Wednesday Want List: Polyvore Editorial Favorites

So I didn't really have an idea for what to do for this week's WWL. This kind of sprang up on me as I logged into Polyvore and saw some cute stuff and just started "hearting" everything. After awhile it finally clicked... "let's make a 'best of'... POLYVORE!"

Wednesday Want List: Polyvore Editorial Favorites

I tried to keep the jewelry down to a minimum because I did Jewelry last week but hey I like what I like. It's like the skulls thing, I try not to include it too much but they weasel their way into my heart and take root.

  1. I wish I could wear skirts. I can't. I have a bubble butt and every skirt I try on that isn't high-low or floor length ends up with me flashing my buns to the world. Not that they aren't great buns but I'd prefer if only a select few were privy to viewing. This one however I'd make an exception for and wear with leggings or something. It's just too cute not to. It's got the whole Beetlejuice thing going on and it's only $30. That's doable right?
  2. This is adorable right? I can't wear onesie's at the moment but it's definitely a goal for next summer. Oh hell I live in Los Angeles, I can wear summer clothes all year 'round. So basically it's an on-going goal. If I start with this one it will be cheating since it isn't exactly one piece, it's two but they do go together. "Organza suit with vest top and shorts, embroidery flowers printing, in black." They are sold together that is, so that counts right? How about that it's only $53 and too cute to resist?
  3. These booties! I put them on here, because they are on and will stay on the ultra DO WANT list. Namely because they are about $1500 and who the hell has that to spend on shoes? Oh right. Khloe Kardashian because that's the Polyvore it came from. Ugh. Hate those girls. I've met them, worked for the company that runs their website remember, so I can say that. Still, the shoe can't help who buys them anymore than I can help falling in love with them despite their price tag. They are available at Barney's for any males who'd like my hand in marriage. Forget the ring, bring the shoes.
  4. I've probably added 3 or 4 handbags in this particular style and color. First off it's listed as "Coral" and comes in Camel (read beige, light brown, tan) but it looks more salmon to me. Don't you think? Plus, this is a brand I've never heard of and well, it's $223 so its redeeming qualities stop there. Polyvore and I have something in common.
  5. I am going for a studded theme today or what? This dress would be perfect for birthday parties, date night or just going out for drinks with the girls and at $60 you can spend the money you saved buying this instead of some ridiculous expensive ensemble on drinks!
  6. I saved the best for last. Seriously. It's yellow gold and $465 but in spite of it's many flaws I am still just so drawn to it. This ring is so simple that I can't help but love it. It kind of reminds me of the Deathly Hallows symbol. Ya feel me?

I liked this spontaneous WWL didn't you? I am going to need to brainstorm some ideas for what to do for the up coming weeks. It's getting much harder to do these. Suggestions are very much welcome!

Should I do a monthly "I heart it" from the Polyvore editorial?
What is your favorite thing they've posted lately?

Wednesday Want List: Jewelry

So.... Jewelry? Big on it or a jewelry minimalist we all at some point wear it. My tastes, as in ever subject, are varied. I like creepy, to unique, to classic but nothing too over the top.

Wednesday Want List: Jewlery

See? There's some skulls, and some cute things, but nothing too gaudy and of course - gemstones! I'm big into gemstones. I visit a lot of metaphysical shops or another place to get them if you live or visit the west coast is Native American Indian reservations. A lot of them make jewelry and other wares and sell them. I like to help you, you know since one of my ancestors kind of massacred a bunch of them. Fun little fact about moi!

  1. I think I featured a ring like this before, it was saved to my items but I went back through and couldn't find it. Who's a religious reader and knows? Anybody? Alright then I just thought it was neat and though I don't wear rings often due to my fat stubby fingers this is something I'd adorn my hand with every once and a while. It's $14 so it won't set you back too much and it's perfect for Halloween!
  2. I actually know I've used this bracelet before. I bought a similar one at a thrift store and have somehow managed to lose it! I seriously cannot find it anywhere and that bums me out because I love it. It goes with basically everything and it bums me out. This bracelet is from a gal named Maria Nilsdotter and she makes GORGEOUS nature-themed jewelry. Seriously, check her out. This bracelet would set you back $180 but I'm telling you it's worth it.
  3. Who doesn't like a little whimsy every now and then? This octopus necklace is sure to gain compliments and turn heads, believe me. Why? Because if I saw you wearing it I'd tell you it was fabulous, ask you where you got it and quite possibly leave the impression that I'd rip if off your very neck when you weren't paying attention. But since I know it is $15 and from ModCloth, eh, I'll let you go. This time. ;)
  4. Told you I liked gemstones. My favorite is Onyx and Brit likes to chide me that I like it because it is black; like my soul. L-O-L. This necklace will set you back $35 but for Green Magnesite that isn't too bad. That's about what you would pay at any metaphysical shop, maybe $40 depending on how much it cost them to acquire it.
  5. Colorful Skulls? What is not to like? I bought a bracelet similar to this, in all black. Don't judge me ok, there weren't lovely pastels or excuse me PALES like this available. They were all weird colors and it looked like a clown would wear it. Seriously they would match NOTHING I own and I have some pretty crazy stuff in my closet.  Mine set me back $3 but the $6 one here is sold out. I blame supply and demand for that one. :(
  6. Now this ring? ADORABLE! It's two birds *almost* kissing for Pete's sake! How can you not love that? Or like it a little bit? I say almost, because they are totally going for it. If it wasn't for that pesky gap in the mold their beaks would touch. Actually, I'm not sure if birds kiss or how they would but it would be cute ok and wearing this on your hand? Even cuter. It's $220 though so I think that this particular ring will stay on my DO WANT list.

Welp, that is all for this week's Wednesday want list. I don't have much else to report except that I'm STILL waiting on a domain transfer and if it doesn't go through tomorrow I am going to call and complain. Again. I hate doing it but this is negatively affecting my website and I can't have that.

P.S: You guys will be pleased to know that I had the opportunity to buy something with skulls on it and instead I bought the one with the fox on it. But you'll see that later this week ;)

What kind of jewelry do you like?
Are you a Yellow Gold or White Gold kind of person?

Wednesday Want List: Relaxation

I am going to apologize for a lot right now. I know I said I wouldn't because this is MY blog and I can do whatever I want with it (post, not post, be an idiot, ect) but I do feel guilty. I've been depressed lately. I finally found a job and then Thursday I was let go. I was consulting on a website and the decision was to close it; after me working for 2 months, busting my ass on it. It is what it is. But that happened literally as I got home on Thursday - you know - right before my "vacation." I'm extremely bummed. I had just gotten used to having money and being able to you know, BUY THINGS I WANT. Once again I am hitting the pavement and looking for work. It's annoying. So really I wanted to relax on my vacation - that didn't happen. I'll blog about that on Friday. But as of right now I have plenty of free time so the excuses for why things aren't up on time or missing completely are not going to exist - until I get another job. Which is a good thing. Right?
Wednesday Want List: Relax
1. Rose Leggings by NastyGal | 2. Gold Platform Heels by Iron Fist | 3. Lets Make Out Knit by Wildfox
4. Chevron Maxi Dress by Windsor | 5. Long Tank by 5 Preview| 6. Shredded Jeans by NastyGal

This Wednesday Want List I have decided to pick clothing that is still chic but comfy. You know, for those days where you just don't feel like putting a ton of work into your outfit. Maybe you're late for work and have 5 minutes before you need to leave. Those 5 minutes should be going towards your morning ritual (you know what I am saying) and not deciding on what necklace would make your shirt stand out or what belt goes with your outfit.

  1. Being comfy for me almost always means leggings. They truly are the new sweatpants. Well, there's yoga pants but really isn't there a fine line between leggings and yoga pants? I'm pretty sure some yogi just made a pair of leggings and called them yoga pants and it caught on. Anyways, if you just want to be comfy without hassle but still be fashion forward I recommend getting leggings with some kind of print on them. These are from my affiliate NastyGal, so of course I recommend buying from them since that helps me out. ;) Wear a plain top or over sized sweatshirt and viola! You're done.
  2. I like to dress up a sweat and jeans with funky shoes. Hence the heels and the skulls. Draw the attention to your feet and no one will notice that you put your shirt on backwards and inside out. Well, for most of the day anyways.
  3. Nothing says "I'm comfy, I'm relaxed" quite like a huge sweater. Put some black leggings under this bad baby and the statement or cute kitty or weird face on the front will do all the work.
  4. If it is summer out and sweatshirts and leggings won't do for going out into the world (you're supposed to be relaxing dude) then I highly recommend the maxi dress. If you're short like me, you'll have to get them all hemmed but what is that compared to not having to worry about what your hair and make up looks like because you're dress is amazing and all you did was pull it off a hanger?
  5. Again because it is summer here is another option. Maybe you can handle leggings but the sweater is out. Try and long flowy tank top. It gives the illusion of  "I don't give a $h*t" but you're still fashionable. And nothing gives the illusion of carefree like this tank top.
  6. If you hate leggings there is always statement jeans. These are also from my affiliate NastyGal, so of course I recommend buying from them. They have a wide assortment of jeans too so if you aren't into torn up jeans you can go with a pattern or make them high-waisted and you're golden. Pull the carefree tank top or the oversized sweater, throw on some heels and you're out the door. Gee wasn't that easy?

As you can see I was particularly lazy with this WWL. I'm on an extended vacation alright? Don't harsh my mellow! Kidding aside I actually love everything in this WWL and would wear it whether it was a "comfy day" or not.

On Friday as I said I'll have a re-cap of my family reunion with plenty of pictures of myself and then Saturday I am going to post something very dear to my heart.

What's your favorite comfy outfit?
How do you relax and chill out? (If it's wine - SHARE)

Wednesday Want List: Spring Floral

Sorry about the website everyone... I was in the middle of switching everything over when Blogger decided to go bonkers on me. Hopefully I'll have this fixed tomorrow but for now you kind of have to deal with how ridiculous it looks since it is half finished :/ But without further ado...
Wednesday Want List: Spring Floral
1. Arizona Swimwear from JC Penny's | 2. High Waist Pants from Topshop | 3. Floral Crossbody by Betsey Johnson
4. Vintage Flower Crown by RockNRose | 5.  Sunflower Dress by Alice + Olivia | 6. Floral Ballet Shoes by New Look

I know what you are thinking. "Florals for Spring? How original!" But bear with me because these are ridiculously cute and most importantly floral doesn't ever go out of style. You can wear these maybe twice and then put them away for next spring and guess what? They will still be fashionable and you don't have to go buy a whole new wardrobe to do it.

  1. This is probably the cutest bathing suit you'll ever spend $20 on. It's from JC Penny so you might even get it cheaper if you have a coupon and it's perfect because for most of us in the U.S Summer is coming and you'll need something to tan in right?
  2. These high waisted floral pants from Topshop are to die for. Who knew mom-jeans would come back in style and look so adorable right? You can wear these until Labor Day with a cute blazer.
  3. First of all don't scoff at the bag because it doesn't fit the rest of the color pallet. It's Betsey Johnson for one thing, it does come in white and for another it's me we are talking about. I wouldn't dare cross over to the light side completely!  I could have made this entire post about floral purses because so many of them were cute. But remember, for every cute floral bag there were about 5 that looked like someone ripped the fabric from my gram's couch in the 70's. Either way this bag is cute and at $88 it's a steal (well, for Betsey anyways).
  4. Every flower child needs a flower crown. While most might think these are only cute to wear to Coachella you are dead wrong. They work at Renaissance Faire's, photo shoots and even work. Seriously it's just a headband guys. You can even make these yourself! But if you're lazy like me you can purchase this one for $65. Yikes!
  5. Spring means warm weather and that means your legs can come out of those pants you've been hiding them in all winter and be free. This Alice + Olivia dress is perfect for a spring wedding or even date night. Put on a nice pink cardigan and some white ballet flats and you are good to go!
  6. Speaking of ballet flats these babies can be worn to dress up some denim, you know if you're not quite sure how floral looks on you or if you like it. They are the perfect introduction to what your wardrobe has been missing your whole life. Plus they are only $16. At that price who wouldn't want to own these?

Hope your hump day is going smashing and if it's not, well your weekend is just around the corner. Be grateful it isn't still Monday!

Spring Floral - over rated or never enough?
What's your go-to favorite outfit?

Wednesday Want List: Camera Accessories

Now since purchasing my baby I've decided I want to buy other things for it. No, not like lenses and stuff even though I do have some of those in mind but other fashion-y things. I promise.

Wednesday Want List: Camera Accessories

1. Rose in Coral by Jo Totes | 2. Brooklyn in Blush by Epiphanie | 3. Chevron Camera Strap by SewTamz
4. Skull Polka Dot Strap by FunkyMutt | 5. Turquoise Flower Cap Saver by MOD | 6. The Bokeh Kit

I have a camera bag but when I bought it I wasn't thinking of fashion or comfort I was just thinking "I need something to house my camera when it isn't in use and something to protect it when I'm out and about taking pictures or when I'm in the photo pit at a show.  So here are some things that will come in handy.

  1. I love Jo Tote's camera bags. They are ridiculously cute and very on trend with the latest fashions. They are reasonably affordable (at $89 + S&H) because let's face it camera bags, the good ones, are expensive just like the camera it houses. But my favorite part are the colors the bags come in. I could easily buy one of every color in the same style and have a hard time picking one to use consistently. I have had my eye on the Rose in Coral for the longest time. I plan on purchasing this one next payday and I'll have it in time to take to my family reunion.
  2. I also love Epiphanie bags. If you follow me on twitter I am always trying to win one of those babies. I know that eventually I will need a backpack style camera bag. The Brooklyn comes in a few different colors but I like it in Blush because this color is unique. I've never seen another camera bag in this color. Mint, Teal, Black, various shades of pink, blue, red, gray and yellow can be found at any number of camera bag manufacturers but this? Yeah, it's not likely you'll find one. $224
  3. The next thing I didn't bother to upgrade was my camera strap. I use the generic Nikon strap it comes with and it's very uncomfortable and rubs against your neck. But hey, it came with the camera, I didn't spend more for it so why complain? I'll just buy a cuter, more comfy one. I love that you can get just a strap cover from Sew Tamz or you can get a whole strap with a lens keeper. I've never misplaced a lens cap but I can see how easy it would be for people to lose them. Especially when I'm shooting a concert. This particular one is reversible - so it's like having two. If you get bored with one color just flip it over! $20-$40 (full straps cost more than strap covers)
  4. Would I be me without including something skull related? Of course not. I really, REALLY like this fabric. In fact I think this is my winner. This is from an Etsy shop and they also make dog collars. You know, if you're into that sort of thing. ;) $22
  5. Now if I do go with the skull strap the shop owner doesn't make lens cap holders so I'll need something else a little more decorative. I love this flower lens strap from Mod. I am pretty much into teal/ turquoise these days but if I get that red and black and white strap I'll need something a little more color friendly. It comes in black, red and white as well. Then there is a silver skull one but I feel like that might be going too over board, yes? They are only $16.50 so why not get a bunch?
  6. Last thing on my list are cool filters. "The Bokeh Kit consists of 21 black filters, which resemble stencils with various shaped cut-outs including airplanes, butterflies and paw prints. The filters simply attach to your DSLR camera lens with an elastic band.  The entire Bokeh Kit costs only about $25 and also comes with a blank sheet for you to design your own custom filters by cutting out silhouettes of your choice. " I think that's pretty cool and they aren't that expensive. Time to start my letter to Santa Claus and/or the birthday fairy.

That's it for this week's Wednesday Want List. Next week I'll be back with clothing and stuffs I promise. I know not everyone is into photography but hopefully you can appreciate my excitement if nothing else!

To my photographers: what's your favorite bag, strap or other accessory that other photographers might go "eh you don't really need that do you?" that you can't live without?

What's your favorite item from this week's WWL?
Do you have any of these accessories?

Wednesday Want List: Steve Madden

Hi guys, finally two posts this week. w00t! Getting back into the swing of things and let me tell you it isn't easy.
Wednesday Want List: Steve Madden
Everything this week comes from Steve Madden. I seem to have an obsession with him as of late. I mean I've always loved his stuff but last paycheck I purchased 3 items that were splurge items and they were all Steve Madden!

  1. I am desperately looking for a pair of studded boots and these by Steve Madden fit the bill. If only I could find a pair to try on - I'd even pay the $200 price tag for these puppies.
  2. I didn't need these but I totally bought these puppies. I have a shoe obsession and I can't even care. I don't however, have a lot of flats and they have two things I love right now. Studs and they come in teal. So cute right? Says here they are $76 but they were only $40 at TJ Maxx.
  3. I REALLY needed a new handbag. I have worn out or have re-used old bags so much that I stopped carrying a purse for a month and just used an old clutch wallet. So I purchased the very lovely one! I didn't have the choice of black (both a blessing and a curse) but I did have beige and red to pink from. If you follow me on instagram, I actually put it to a vote and ended up getting the red one. I think it was a good choice and I love it. Price online is $91 but I paid $40 for mine at TJ Maxx.
  4. It wouldn't be a come back if my first WWL didn't include skulls. Not overly fond of these as they resemble Toms too much for my liking and while Toms is a good cause with that whole sending a pair of shoes to someone who needs them n an underdeveloped country I'd rather just pay $50 and both pair go to people who need them you know? But they are skulls, Steve Madden and they only cost $40 so maybe?
  5. I'm in no hurry to replace my current lovely handbag but if I had to this studded satchel would surely do the trick. In fact, it just may be my next purchase ;) $80
  6. Lastly, at work we are allowed to wear sandals on Fridays so long as they are kind of dressy. Enter these lovely babies. Mine are black (I like black so that's good) but I wouldn't have minded them in this tan color either. They would go with some of my other outfits a little bit more but I'll take what I can get. These are priced at $36 but I paid $30 for them at TJ Maxx.

If I were you and you guys liked the three items I purchased, I'd go straight to TJ Maxx and scoop them up before they are gone. I actually considered going back and buying the Beige version of my bag too but it was gone. Looks like I wasn't the only fan that week!

That's it for this week's Wednesday Want List. I should get my camera tomorrow night or Friday so there is a large possibility of a photo post this weekend. I also might start doing some "What I Wore" or "Get the Look" posts to do every other week on Wednesday's too. Unless you'd like me to do a Photo Friday kind of deal and do an outfit post then? Post your thoughts in the comments, I'd love to hear them.

How do you feel about Steve Madden?
Do you have a favorite designer and if so, who is it?

Wednesday Want List: Spring Break Bikini's

So quite possibly I hate you. Probably because you look better in a bikini than me, or because you have a spring break. Maybe it's a bit of both. I have decided since we are entering that era of time where women profess their hate for their bodies and their bodies in bathing suits to make a Wednesday Want List geared towards wanting the very things we love to hate. It is inevitable that sometime through out the next few months you will venture forth into the stores and procure one of these things. Might I offer from lovely pieces for you?
Wednesday Want List: Spring Break Bikini
Going from left to right we have:
  1. Blue Rhinestone Skull Bikini ($50 -$30 top $20 bottom from River Island)
  2. True Love Bikini ($137 - $72 Top $65 Bottom from Betsey Johnson)
  3. Pink Marble Bikini ($48 - $24 Top $24 Bottom from River Island)
  4. My Swimsuit :)
    • A combo of $18 top from Target & $30 bottoms from American Apparel, although the one's shown here are $20 & are from Topshop.
Now, I have something for every budget and taste. Typically you'll spend $20-$50 on a swim suit. That's the cheapest you can get away with unless you scour the racks for clearance pieces half-way into winter. I do it all the time.  In fact I have two tops I got on clearance for $5-$9 that I wear with my bottoms. I also usually just end up buying a new top every year because I always buy black bottoms. I typically buy them either the shorts version or the high-waist beauties I have shown above.
As for taste, it depends on what you prefer. You can go strapless, or you can go halter and you can hide your stomach or show it off or do a bit of both. It is completely up to you but can I suggest some advice? Grab a copy of Seventeen magazine before you go shopping. Every year around this time they start publishing a guide on how to shop for your body type. Or you can run through these tips from Glamour.com on how to slim your hips, hide your tummy, control those big boobs, make it look like you have big boobs or combine all of these together! There's even nice before and after pictures and example's of "what to buy," which I think is a really nice touch.

Do you dread swimsuit shopping?
What type of swimsuit do you have?

Wednesday Want List: Casino Outfit

Wednesday Want List: Casino Outfit

All of these items are similar to items I wore last week, with the exception of the pants. I've had 3 people go out and buy them just because I wore them. If you're a short girl like my friends and I, pants that you don't have to hem are hard to come by and these fit me perfectly. My friends too apparently!

Sweater - $13 (on clearance) Kohls
Pants - $25 Target, above.
Shoes - I ended up wearing the flats on the right, $14 H&M
Handbag - $24 Target (not shown)
Necklace - Reversible & a Hand Me Down from my Grams
Ring - Was my mothers, the John Lewis is the closest I've ever seen it anywhere.

Wednesday Want List: Everyday Outing

This week's WWL is going to be structured a little differently than usual. You'll find out why more towards the end.
Wednesday Want List: Everyday Outing

So this is what I would wear on an every day outing. One color pallet that looks good on every one and goes really well together is red white and blue. Cliche but it's totally true. The little pieces are what set these items from "Eh" to "Ohhhh" and adding or subtracting take this from casual to fashionable, day to night. You know how I love versatility when it comes to fashion.

  1. Nerd Shirt - A graphic tee is a staple. Especially if it makes a statement. For this look you want to keep your graphic simple and subtle. Some graphic tees are really flashy and filled with lots of color. That makes it great by itself but if you need to dress it up that can make it hard. This is a perfect shirt to pair up with dressier items because white goes with everything and typically so does black. It's also right in my price range of acceptable pricing for a t-shirt at $15. It has to be ridiculously good if it's over $20 and sometimes even that is pushing it. Only time I've ever spent $20 or more on a t-shirt was a band tee.
  2. Blazer - Use the red for a nice splash of color. Blazers are perfect for dressing things up if you need to be a little bit more fancy or professional looking. I love traditional blazers but I also love to mess with lengths. This blazer is perfect for that as it angles downward and sits above the waist. The blazer is made of jersey material and the sleeves are actually meant to be bunched up your arms giving it more of a fashionable rather than business professional appeal. This one is only $17 on Amazon and comes in 12 different colors too. Another great place to get blazers besides Forever 21 and H&M at a steal are thrift stores. Get to the 80's section and just rip out the shoulder pads. Or keep them in for the boxy shoulder look.
  3. Jeans - Moving onto the jeans because one of the other reasons I love the way the blazer is cut is to show off and accentuate the high waist of these lovely jeans. These denim duds are $54, in a very lovely navy wash and there's no fading, rips, tears or studs. The high waist is the centerpiece and that's perfect. If your jeans have too much going on a persons eyes go downward and not upward towards your eyes. Let's face it ladies, unless we have abs like Jillian Michaels we probably don't want people spending too much time eyeing our mid-section. You can always rock low-rise or if you're like me and have wide hips bootcut is best.
  4. Bracelet - Accessories can help make an outfit. I lean more towards silver or white based jewelry but sometimes gold or yellow makes an appearance. Like with this spike bracelet, which doesn't come in a white gold only yellow or rose and the rose is very pretty but wouldn't go with this outfit. It's edgy, it will bring in a bit of interest to the outfit and doesn't make it feel so prim and proper. This bracelet is $138 but it's 18k gold, what did you expect? I'm sure somewhere there is something similar at a cheaper price but if you're one of those people who can only wear gold or sterling silver due to allergies this is a steal given the price of gold these days.
  5. Shoes - I love these shoes because the nude color will go with anything and the navy bow helps make these the perfect pair to match any pair of jeans you have. These ones are made by Christian Louboutin and are the most expensive thing here at $774. Totally worth it apparently because they are sold out. :( Too bad since they also tie in with the purse.
  6. Handbag -Speaking of this amazing navy blue Juicy Couture purse with an adorable anchor charm - GIMMIE. I love Juicy and my wallet hates me for it. A lot of people complain that their bags are too busy and that they don't come in anything accept velour. Here's a myth buster. I actually have a brown light leather wallet that I got for my birthday. I own 2 Juicy handbags and neither are velour. I have no clue what they are talking about. This bag is a steal at $228 for it's size and how adorable it is. Plus the charm matches my anchor tattoo, that means it's destiny right? Even though it comes in 5 different colors, each with a different charm (except the Orange, which also has an anchor). I think Juicy could have charged more and gotten away with it but now my wallet is glaring at me and reminding me to keep dreaming since it contains zero dollars in it. *sigh*
Take away the blazer and the heels and you have a casual every day outfit. Add just the shoes and you have a cute date outfit. Take off the bracelet if it's too edgy, get the handbag or the blazer in a different color to transform the whole theme. There is so much you can do to this outfit. I love it.

The reason I decided to do an every day kind of outfit for this week's WWL is because yesterday I went on a little outting with my gram and mom to a casino where we were going to a show after. I wasn't sure what the dress code was so I made sure my outfit went from relaxed casual to dressy in a few simple changes. I'll have pictures of that Friday, how I did my make up next Monday and for next weeks WWL I'm going to find high priced items comparable to what I wore on the cheap side of things. ;) Stay tuned.

What do you think of this outfit?
How do you like to dress up or dress down outfits?

Wednesday Want List: WWL Favorites

Hi guys, I thought this week I'd share with you some of my favorite things from WWL's past. I mean obviously I love everything I put on these. But sometimes things just stay with you, you know and you're like "I gotta have them."
Wednesday Want List: Favorites
I have actually gone out and purchased things from these. I would do fashion posts of what I am wearing but I still don't have a camera to do that with so I'm going to hold off on those for a while.
  1. I love this dress. It's from my skull edition. You know how I am about skulls. What I loved most was that people who said they weren't big on skulls would actually consider wearing this dress. It comes in black and white or black and red. Unfortunately when I tried to buy this lovely wonder it was sold out. The company didn't know if they would get them in again. Boo.
  2. I had this as part of my holiday party edition. As one of those "ugly sweaters" you could wear. It was way too expensive but I still want it.
  3. This cute little fox necklace was part of my birthday wishlist, which was a special Wednesday Want List where if money was no object what would be the first things I bought for myself for my birthday. He's so cute. I'll have to do a fox WWL since I did an owl one.
  4. These shoes were from last week's Punk themed WWL. I didn't know they had skulls on them until the last minute and when I looked for them they were sold out and NO ONE has them because they are discontinued. I can get some similar that are open-toe but I want those one specifically. So upset.
  5. This sparkly skirt is from my affiliates Lulu's.com and was one of the item's I used in my special announcement WWL for becoming Affies with them. I love the skirt because it could be used for any type of occasion. It's dressy but not too dressy and it's glittery so it would have been useful at NYE but also for a night on the town.
  6. This Marc Jacobs bag will forever be on my Want list! It was on my birthday wishlist but also on my Hand bags edition too.

What are your favorite's from WWL?

Wednesday Want List: Punk Style

I was recently informed that I am not punk. Wait, I'm not punk? Holy shit. Mind=fucked. I had no clue on how truly misinformed I am. Thank you so much for clearing that up. I will be sure to burn my vast collection of Misfits, The Cramps, Rancid and other punk rock CD's as well as my band tees and all the other items I have that made me feel like I was a tried and true punk rocker. You've opened my eyes. *end sarcasm, insert middle finger and eye roll here*

I love it when I get some mohawk wielding a patched and studded denim vest telling me my tattoo's suck my piercings are fake and even though I'm wearing a sex pistols shirt I probably don't even know who the sex pistols are. It happened to me the other day. Someone asked if there was a sale at hot topic and I just raised my brow and said excuse me? So they proceeded to inform me of how I'm not punk just for wearing a tshirt and black jeans. That doesn't make me punk? Oh praytell, what does? I wasn't aware that I had to be punk to like the things I like, wear whatever clothing I like or listen to certain bands because they fit into a genre that may or may not be considered "punk."
I just shake my head because, really who cares? Me I guess. So to truly piss those genuine punk rocker's off I thought I would do a cute little guide on how you too can look like a punk but not be one. Ya feel me?

  1. First of all, every punk rock wannabe needs a band tee or a Statement Tee. After all, being a faux-punk means that you need to rebel against the man, the government and against authority. This t-shirt was just too perfect to pass up. It's $21 at Asos though and true punks would never pay that much, they'd steal it. I think I'll make my own because, DIY is more punk rock!
  2. I made a pair of jeans like these shorts in high school and I wish I still had them. No punk rocker is complete without something black that also has animal print with studs. These shorts are ridiculously cute but ridiculously over priced. $164.00 USD from Runway Dreamz. Seriously? Black shorts = $20 AT MOST from a regular store, $5 at a thrift store or you can cut up a pair of jeans you already have. Razorblade to fray ends = $1 (break open an old shaver you're about to throw away). Animal Print fabric $5-$10 at most from Joann's (use coupon & you only need about a yard). Studs = $5+ at StudsandSpikes.com, depends on the amount & the variation of stud. So all together for materials it's $40 at most plus labor of maybe an hour. These puppies are most likely mass produced in a factory in china so I'd say with supplies bought in bulk and cheap labor it cost them $20 a pair to make. Charging $164 for a pair of shorts that cost less than $40 to make is ridiculous. This is why punks hate consumerism. It's disgusting.
  3. Now every punk rocker needs something to protect against the cold. Especially the dudes because typically they tear the sleeves off their shirts to show their awesome tattoo's that say I love mom. A Studded leather jacket is usually worn in the winter. In the summer punks usually tote a denim vest that has studs and patches all over it. This is the one thing punks don't scrimp on. Leather jackets are serious business. This one is from Topshop (so not punk) and cost $130. But that's about what you'll pay for a good quality leather jacket. This also explains the denim alternative. It's way cheaper, easier to alter and you'll be considered a lot tougher trying to stay warm.
  4. The next thing in a punks wardrobe are studded leather cuffs or studded bracelets. These can be found anywhere between $5-20. These particular fashion forward babies are $26 from a website in Australia. In high school I had both leather cuffs and bangles. I also had those colored plastic bracelets that supposedly if a guy broke one off you'd have to do R rated things with them. But I was pretty large and had a secret boyfriend, who's name was Johnny and preferred that because of Johnny Rotten. You know, of the sex pistols? Apparently, it wasn't as secret as we thought because one day when one broke 3 guys ran away and I mean straight booked it and when I asked why they said they didn't want to get the shit kicked out of them by Johnny. Whoops!
  5. When it comes to being punk, consumerism is not on the agenda as you can tell. Down with conforming to that social ideal that just because it has a little tear in it means it needs to be thrown out and replaced with the latest trend. Ripped leggings, tights or jeans will always be found in a punk's closet, I mean floor because who uses laundry baskets or closets? These are $17 at Chicnova and the fun thing about them is if they get torn more it looks like it was on purpose. My favorite is when someone goes "you've got a run" and I reply with "I know." HA!
  6. Then there are Boots. Every punk needs a pair.  These little heeled booties fit more fashionably with everything else I own. I didn't notice it until the last second when I went to see the price but those have a skull pattern in them! HAHAHA I purposefully tried to stay away from skulls and naturally, they sneak their way in. I can't believe it. Skulls are pretty punk rock though. These adorable puppies are $42 at Angry, Young and Poor.

As you can see I'm a little bitter about this. It's something I dealt with in high school and for it to still be an issue is absurd. Punk is an attitude, a lifestyle and yes a fashion choice. I'm no Brody Dalle but I'm no Avril Lavigne either. I am me and I'll dress how I want to dress, look how I want to look and listen to whatever music appeals to me and if you have an issue with it you can SUCK IT.

What do you think, could you pull this look off?
Would you guys like me to a DIY on how to make the tee or the shorts?

Wednesday Want List: Best Dresses

Ugh you guys, I dropped the ball - again! I truly got side tracked because I had a mess of things to do in the real world. I was supposed to take my grams to drop her car off at the body shop (she has a ding she wants to fix) and then take her out to dinner with her friend (driving Miss Daisy style). But last night was so awful I was literally coughing do hard I puked. Three times! My mom busted out a humidifier and that seemed to do the trick. It was weird, I was perfectly fine until I started to lay down. I mean, I even made soap yesterday (see post). So then when I call my grams this morning her friend who she was supposed to go out to dinner with got into a car accident. Apparently she's ok but her car got totaled out and she said she's so depressed she won't be good company and now wants to do it next week. So my whole day got derailed and you'd think that would leave me with enough time to get the WWL out but it didn't. So here it is, at 5pm. I suck, I know. Sorry guys.
Wednesday Want List: Best Dresses
So basically all I did was spend 5 minutes looking through the dresses. I'm sick man, cut me some slack. I watched Bridesmaids last night because I was up and coughing until 3 am. I thought maybe popping in a movie would help me fall asleep and I realized just how much my life parallels Kristen Wiigs character in that movie. Lost my job, moved in with my mom again, life is kinda shitty, broke as a joke. Seriously, that whole "Help me I'm poor" resonates with me. Especially right now. I kind of wish there was a Polyvore fairy though that randomly sent you items from your Polyvore's. Wouldn't that be amazing? Ya'll saw my b-day want list right? EVERYTHING FROM THAT PLEASE. LOL. Not to be discounted would be these dresses.
  1. Ok, cat dress? GENIUS. Who doesn't love cats? Ok, so not everyone is a cat person but whatever. I love unique cat-items like this dress. It's so ridiculous that it's cute and it's only $50 and the cat is wearing a damn bow-tie. For reals, someone order this for me.
  2. Floral will NEVER be out of style as far as I am concerned. I was in Joanns yesterday buying some inexpensive cloth to use as a back drop for my product photo's for my soap and I came across a floral fabric that was just like this dress and perfectly lovely and it broke my heart to see the price tag was $16.99 a yard. I had a 50% off coupon but honestly even that was too much. I ended up buying a quilters square piece and using the coupon on that. But when I saw this dress on Polyvore my heart sang and was like "you put that on there, do it, RIGHT NOW BITCH" and naturally, I listened. :) $32 at She Inside.
  3. I just love the shape of this dress. I love black and white together. It's so classic but still can be edgy. I love the neckline and the tear drop in the back. The only thing I'm not sold on is the sleeveless aspect but I think if it had sleeves it would ruin it. $24 Little Mistress.
  4. Every now and then I like to buy a dress for a "special occasion." It does not matter to me if there actually is one but I like to have a dress in my closet that I can use in case one appears. I have an addiction to shopping and to clothing you really can't say you didn't see that ridiculous reasoning coming. I need a dress to prepare for an event that may or may not come. Yeah, brilliant. This dress would be that dress. It's just fancy enough to be good for anything early spring might throw at me like a random wedding or I live in Los Angeles, maybe I'll go to an awards show! Anyways, it's also casual enough to wear on a date (that's more likely to happen). It's multi-purpose and you know I love my dual-duty fashion. It's $198 though from French Connection. Who knows of a knock off? I'm a girl with Cristal taste on a rain water budget. Can't even afford tap these days.
  5. This is more of my love for vintage style clothing and again black and white. This is just a really cute every day dress for me. Looks like something Zooey Deschanel might wear. Actually, I think she has worn something like this before. $36 Attitude Clothing
  6. Valentine's day is just around the corner as the end of January comes near. So who doesn't want an $80 dress from Topshop that has hearts on it? Also, Topshop is opening a store in L.A. I've applied but I don't think my little memo about "I WILL KILL MYSELF IF I DON'T GET THIS JOB" was received well. *sigh*

Speaking of Valentine's Day, I have some ADORABLE heart shaped bath bombs that you should treat yourself for sale in my webstore. They have little rose buds in them and smell like Lavender and Roses. It's a heady combo but oh so relaxing when you're in the bath. Perfect for you or for someone else for Valentine's.

Don't forget to come back on Friday (I have that one scheduled guys, I can't forget about it LOL) for a special giveaway announcement!

What's your favorite kind of dress or pattern?

Wednesday Want List: Green Monster

Wednesday Want List: Green Monster
1. Seeing Double Green Button Up | 2. Month of Sundaes Mint Green Dress | 3. Point Sized Studded Green Purse
4. Abercrombie & Fitch Skinny Jeans | 5. Kenneth Cole Double Breasted Peacoat | 6. BAIT Dennise Wedges in Celery

Ok so it totally looks like I am doing St Patricks Day a little early but it's just not true! It isn't, although I may need to revisit some of these items for that particular post. *ahem* I actually made some soap last night that I'm calling 'The Green Monster' for right now because its, well, green. But it's a ridiculously pretty shade of green that I made using Rosemary and Green Sea Clay. I'll definitely be posting pictures of it soon but as I was looking through a few sites I noticed I have been attracted to green items as I was clipping them to Polyvore. So thus, the Green Monster has stayed with me and welp, these are the fruits of my labor!
  1. The Seeing Double Green Button up is extremely cute and worthy of closet space all year around.  The "glorious green chiffon takes center stage on this collared cutie, while black buttons up the front and on the cuffs of dolman sleeves create a cute contrast. Two black vegan leather strips down the back make this look twice as nice!" This lovely top can be found at Lulu's.com for a mere $35.
  2. The Month of Sundaes Mint Green Dress is to die for. You know me and my skater dresses, I can't get enough. I also love mint colored anything. Mint was actually the theme of my very first WWL, nuts huh? Anyways, the model wearing this dress totally looks like Spencer on ABC's Pretty Little Liars. Did you catch last nights episode? Mind=Blown. Either way, I can see Spencer rocking this at some point and if you'd like to make it look like Spencer takes fashion tips from you then just know this beauty can be found at Lulu's.com for $37.50.
  3. I love this dark green and studded purse from Lulus.com. It's called "Point Sized Studded Green Purse" and be either carried as a clutch or used as a cross-body as it comes with a clip on strap. I like versitle! It's made with quilted vegan leather and dotted with golden thimble studs along the padded front flap. It also boasts a zip-top with a floral print lining inside and three interior pockets. It's on sale for $32, marked down from $46 making it a steal!
  4. Now, I'm not a fan of Abercrombie & Fitch at all. Nor will anything they produce ever fit me. So for the lucky twig-stick-figure-model-type girls who I'm obviously jealous of, this is for you. These glorious green and white polka dot skinny jeans that will make your butt look great (speculating) and feel like a cute Easter egg (wild guess). I will live vicariously through you and only give you that "judging-you" look when I think you're not looking. Plus, they're only $50.
  5. I have wanted a peacoat since forever. I have a hard time with jackets. Anything that is stiff in the shoulders basically. Why don't they make women's jackets like they were built for a guy? I have man-shoulders. This deliciously cute Kenneth Cole New York Double Breasted Peacoat is in my favorite shade of green. Only problem is that, 1)it will never fit me because I'm doomed to never wear cute jackets. Ever 2) it's $130. I don't like to spend that kind of money on bills, spending it on a coat no matter how cute is out of the question. Anyone know a good knock-off artist who'd help with the shoulders problem? No? Figured. *sigh*. If you're interested it's available at Nordstrom.com.
  6. Now here is something I don't worry about fitting - ever. Shoes! Who doesn't love shoes? These cutie wedges are from B.A.I.T. I have long coveted their shoes and so often I paruse the sale section. I found these cute puppies and they fit the theme. These are the Dennise and the color is called Celery. How fun right? The wedges are only $37.80 on sale from $63! Makes me wish I had a job so I could buy them. :/

That's it for this week's Wednesday Want List. If you were wondering I'm still sick, throat is still sore and every time I swallow the tickle in my throat causes me to go into such a bad coughing fit it makes Doctors shrink away and hide for fear I'll give it to them! I'm also buying stock in Luden's cough drops because I'm going through a bag every two days. UGH!

What's your favorite item out of these?

Wednesday Want List: Shoes

Wednesday Want List: Shoes

I apologize for this post being rather late, especially for my East Coasters. To make up for it I have a little bit of shoe porn for you. As I mentioned in my vlog on Monday, I received a gift code for $25 off your first pair of shoes from Influenster and I am able to share that with all of you:

INFLUENSTER25

I will warn you though that the reviews I have read on influenster are not good. I was not happy with the fact that I have to sign up and give my information out in order to LOOK at the shoes. I almost didn't do it but for the sake of the study and for your sake I did it. I signed up for an account and went to look at their shoes hoping that beyond those cyber gateways giving my information would be worth it. Well, not really. I found two pairs out of their entire catalog that I would wear and I'm really "iffy" on one of them. Overall I thought their selection was too over priced and that most of them weren't very fashionable. I've had better attraction to shoes at Payless. But I was able to find some of them. For example:
  1. Polka Dot Pumps from Sole Society. This is the pair that I am not really too keen on. I like it more than the others that were out there but it just seems very cheap looking to me. For $49.95, even with the $25 off I'm most likely going to pass.
  2. I love these Oxfords though. They are called the Harper Oxford Flat and this design is in "Party." Priced at $49.95 if I get a job or win the lotto before the January 31st deadline to use that promo code is over I'll probably be picking these up. So cute.
  3. I love, love, love studded boots. I want some, really bad. Ever since I saw them on Miss Anna Kendrick in Pitch Perfect (love that movie btw) I was like "yes, a trend I can vehemently get behind!" I saw a pair at JCP that fold down, now those are the bee's knees. I can't find them online anywhere though :/ Damn. Only bummer for these specific boots is they are out of my size 7 and are $69.99.
  4. Now these wedges, which I prefer to go out in most days, are ridiculously cute but they are from a shop in the UK. That means shipping will be ridiculous but for only £27.99 (that's 44.87 USD) all my UK viewers can get some pretty studded wedges. Go get'em!
  5. I'm going to share a secret with you guys - I wore converse before they were cool! Yup, they actually used to sell converse at the flea market my mom frequented when I was little and they were so cheap back then that was all my mom could afford. So I wore them all the time and then in high school right after those Addidas sneakers with the color stripes on the side were popular (I had white with purple because I bought them myself) my "chucks" became popular too. I was ecstatic  Finally I fit in without having to spend money to fit in! haha so silly, but that's my story. I love that they are still $45 though. These leopard ones are super cute.
  6. Probably the cutest and most affordable pair of shoes ever are these floral oxford-like flats. At only $20 these are a steal. They come in black and red floral too but these are the "teal" version and I love them.
And that's it for my Wednesday Want List. I plan on doing another giveaway soon for Valentine's Day that involves my soap business. I'm going to be pulling back on blogging here a bit to focus on that more.

Which pair was your favorite this week?

Wednesday Want List: Pales

Wednesday Want List: Pales

Happy New Year everyone, I hope that if you've gone back to work today that it wasn't too stressful. Sometimes coming back to work after a long holiday makes you hate "Monday's" all over again. I'm starting this week's regular "programing" off with a prediction post! Yes, I believe we'll be seeing some pastels this spring only they won't be called "pastel" not this season they will be called "pale."
  1. This Forever New Yvette Skater Dress isn't a pastel dress, this Forever New Yvette Skater Dress is a pale blue dress. It's from an Australian website and works out to be around $105. Super cute and could be used in the Summer for a wedding. You know me, I like my multipurpose items!
  2. This isn't a pastel pink Elsie bag from Chloé this is a pale pink Elsie Bag from Chloé. Do you get it now? I love this bag and I'm pretty sure I've used it before. I like to recycle my handbags every few months. By recycle I mean I used it when I first bought it, kept it around for a few months then got something else and after 6 months came back to the older bag. That kind of re-cycle ;) It's sold out from the supplier I found it from but it's final sale price was $798. My guess is that you'll find it in consignment shops soon for a lot less.
  3. Its cold in California right now. Like ridiculously cold. It was 13 degrees last night. That's mid-west weather. That's Canadian weather, that is not California weather. Either way I'm in need of wintery items and this Tayce hat from DC Shoes is at the top of my list. It's only $34 and it's also on Polyvore's top items for January. Told you the "pales" were going to be the thing this season!
  4. Since I hate my arms I'm usually found wearing a cardigan no matter what kind of weather we are facing it makes sense that a cardigan shows up. I think this pale Tory Burch Cotton Simone Cardigan goes well with the pale blue dress right? This could be a style staple no matter what the season. and for $225 it better be multi-use!
  5. These shoes, I love salmon-colored anything. Just like I love mint-colored anything. Salmon and Mint go together like peas and carrots! Well, in the fashion world because for food that sounds disgusting. But Giuseppe Zanotti, at $695, I think I'll find me some Payless knock-offs and those will do the trick.
  6. Leave me to finish off the WWL with a mint satchel. I'm a handbag girl, what can I say? They always fit! This is from the Cambridge Company and it too is on Polyvore's Top Items for January list. It's exclusively at ASOS for $193 but I've seen some people walking around with bags similar to this. My guess is you can get it a lot less somewhere else. Target has a thing for Neon right now, so if you can stomach looking like a crossing guard, snag one of those for $20-$30 and call it a day!

That's it for this week's Wednesday Want List. I will be interested in knowing what you guys would like to see on here so give me some ideas in the comments will ya? Friday I am going to be summarizing my cousin's visit to California and then next week I'll be back for Make Up Monday. But let's everyone pray that someone calls me back for a job. Freelancing will only get me so far!

What do you think of these Pale items? Yay or Nay?
What would you like to see next week?
