Wednesday Want List: Everyday Outing

This week's WWL is going to be structured a little differently than usual. You'll find out why more towards the end.
Wednesday Want List: Everyday Outing

So this is what I would wear on an every day outing. One color pallet that looks good on every one and goes really well together is red white and blue. Cliche but it's totally true. The little pieces are what set these items from "Eh" to "Ohhhh" and adding or subtracting take this from casual to fashionable, day to night. You know how I love versatility when it comes to fashion.

  1. Nerd Shirt - A graphic tee is a staple. Especially if it makes a statement. For this look you want to keep your graphic simple and subtle. Some graphic tees are really flashy and filled with lots of color. That makes it great by itself but if you need to dress it up that can make it hard. This is a perfect shirt to pair up with dressier items because white goes with everything and typically so does black. It's also right in my price range of acceptable pricing for a t-shirt at $15. It has to be ridiculously good if it's over $20 and sometimes even that is pushing it. Only time I've ever spent $20 or more on a t-shirt was a band tee.
  2. Blazer - Use the red for a nice splash of color. Blazers are perfect for dressing things up if you need to be a little bit more fancy or professional looking. I love traditional blazers but I also love to mess with lengths. This blazer is perfect for that as it angles downward and sits above the waist. The blazer is made of jersey material and the sleeves are actually meant to be bunched up your arms giving it more of a fashionable rather than business professional appeal. This one is only $17 on Amazon and comes in 12 different colors too. Another great place to get blazers besides Forever 21 and H&M at a steal are thrift stores. Get to the 80's section and just rip out the shoulder pads. Or keep them in for the boxy shoulder look.
  3. Jeans - Moving onto the jeans because one of the other reasons I love the way the blazer is cut is to show off and accentuate the high waist of these lovely jeans. These denim duds are $54, in a very lovely navy wash and there's no fading, rips, tears or studs. The high waist is the centerpiece and that's perfect. If your jeans have too much going on a persons eyes go downward and not upward towards your eyes. Let's face it ladies, unless we have abs like Jillian Michaels we probably don't want people spending too much time eyeing our mid-section. You can always rock low-rise or if you're like me and have wide hips bootcut is best.
  4. Bracelet - Accessories can help make an outfit. I lean more towards silver or white based jewelry but sometimes gold or yellow makes an appearance. Like with this spike bracelet, which doesn't come in a white gold only yellow or rose and the rose is very pretty but wouldn't go with this outfit. It's edgy, it will bring in a bit of interest to the outfit and doesn't make it feel so prim and proper. This bracelet is $138 but it's 18k gold, what did you expect? I'm sure somewhere there is something similar at a cheaper price but if you're one of those people who can only wear gold or sterling silver due to allergies this is a steal given the price of gold these days.
  5. Shoes - I love these shoes because the nude color will go with anything and the navy bow helps make these the perfect pair to match any pair of jeans you have. These ones are made by Christian Louboutin and are the most expensive thing here at $774. Totally worth it apparently because they are sold out. :( Too bad since they also tie in with the purse.
  6. Handbag -Speaking of this amazing navy blue Juicy Couture purse with an adorable anchor charm - GIMMIE. I love Juicy and my wallet hates me for it. A lot of people complain that their bags are too busy and that they don't come in anything accept velour. Here's a myth buster. I actually have a brown light leather wallet that I got for my birthday. I own 2 Juicy handbags and neither are velour. I have no clue what they are talking about. This bag is a steal at $228 for it's size and how adorable it is. Plus the charm matches my anchor tattoo, that means it's destiny right? Even though it comes in 5 different colors, each with a different charm (except the Orange, which also has an anchor). I think Juicy could have charged more and gotten away with it but now my wallet is glaring at me and reminding me to keep dreaming since it contains zero dollars in it. *sigh*
Take away the blazer and the heels and you have a casual every day outfit. Add just the shoes and you have a cute date outfit. Take off the bracelet if it's too edgy, get the handbag or the blazer in a different color to transform the whole theme. There is so much you can do to this outfit. I love it.

The reason I decided to do an every day kind of outfit for this week's WWL is because yesterday I went on a little outting with my gram and mom to a casino where we were going to a show after. I wasn't sure what the dress code was so I made sure my outfit went from relaxed casual to dressy in a few simple changes. I'll have pictures of that Friday, how I did my make up next Monday and for next weeks WWL I'm going to find high priced items comparable to what I wore on the cheap side of things. ;) Stay tuned.

What do you think of this outfit?
How do you like to dress up or dress down outfits?
