Wednesday Want List: NYE Outfit's by NastyGal.com

My affiliate's Nasty Gal are having a "stellar" NYE sale, so I thought I'd share my picks!
Wednesday Want List: Nasty Gal NYE Outfits

All of these items are part of the 25% off New Years Eve sale,
which ends today 12/26/12 at 11:59 PST. Get them while they are still on sale!

Some people get dressed up and some people don't. Hopefully with your Christmas or Hanukkah or whatever money you got within the last month you'll be using that toward something we all celebrate - A NEW YEAR! I don't ever make resolutions because that's one less promise to break but I do enjoy a party. So break out the bubbly and sparkly dresses! Because honestly, NYE is the only time where you can wear an entire outfit made of sequins and be considered stylish!

Do you make New Year's Resolutions?
If you do, what's your resolution(s) and if you don't, why don't you make them?

Wednesday Want List: Baroque

Alright, you guys didn't think I'd leaving you hanging just because I'm traveling across the country right? Ok good. You can follow my adventure if you follow me on Twitter/Instagram. My handle on both is @saarrraaaaivy.

Wednesday Want List: Baroque

Ok so when I discovered the name for this particular trend in fashion I immediately went there in my head.

But honestly, this stuff is so up my alley. Especially since I love antique looking things and dark clothing. It's like they decided to put my two favorite things together just for me!

  1. This peplum dress by Izabel London is fabulous. Perfect for NYE parties or holiday parties alike because it also comes in red/black as well as black/white is only 26GBP and is something you can wear more than once. Perfect for a spring wedding too.
  2. I love this belt. I honestly think I am going to move it from my "want list" to "own it list" because it's cute, it's only $10 and I don't see this trend being filed in that "what was I thinking" column of regrets.
  3. This dress is adorable, only $55 and would be perfect for the holidays as well as totally fashionable!
  4. These Baroque booties are to die for! I'm not very big on peep toe though I do own a few, I'd wear these straight into the ground even at $150 a pair. Found them at MissSelfridge.com. I think they have really nailed this trend.
  5. Obviously this purse is amazeballs since it's SOLD OUT on Karenmillen.com but I bet there's one just like it somewhere. Perhaps it's time to get the sewing machine out? It was only 95 GBP but with delicate gold embroidery it's worth the price. This clutch is perfect for the party season.
  6. I love this Pearl Ring from DorothyPerkins.com. It looks like an antique with a central imitation pearl on gold colored metal, matches the trend and it's only $11!
What do you think of this trend?
Would you rock it or toss it?

Wednesday Want List: Holiday Outfits

Wednesday Want List: Holiday Outfits

It's getting to be that time of the year where holiday parties are in abundance. Don't worry, I have some goodies from my affiliates Lulu's and Nasty Gal to keep you covered if you are still wondering what to wear.
  1. This dress from Lulus.com could be used for a holiday party and then again at New Years as long as you know that there won't be anyone from the Holiday party at your NYE bash - unless you're like me and don't care. I like wearing outfits more than once, makes me feel like I got my money's worth. This dress is even better because it's only $40. So if I wore it twice, it would be like I paid $20 for my holiday party outfit and $20 for my NYE outfit. That's a win-win. You know what else is a win-win? The dip in the back. Go on Lulus.com and check it out.
  2.  Now if your holiday part is one of the "Ugly Sweater Parties" variety then this sweater is perfect. Odds are, someone will think it is ugly. I, however, think it's cute and an awful idea to waste money on something you'll only wear to one ugly sweater party once a year. Who has room in their closet for that? Not me and definitely not a New Yorker. Plus, it's $100 at TopShop for this one so obviously if you're going to spend that much money on a sweater for a party you better want to wear it more than once. Oh, and don't even say you can find one at Goodwill for $5. I tried and apparently people are hoarding them and selling them online for $75, because that is actually happening according to my room mate.
  3. If your holiday party is a little more laid back or colder you can get away with this beautiful dress from NastyGal.com, which you can wear again since it's $68 and it's cute.
  4. These shoes can go perfectly with either outfit which is why I picked them. That and they are only $45 from Lulus.com and you can wear them over and over.
  5. These pants from NastyGal.com were the perfect match for the "ugly" sweater above it and could be worn multiple times. Everyone needs high-waist skinny ankle pants.
  6. These lace booties from Lulus.com are $51 and may only go with the pants outfit for the crocheted dress but I'm sure you can find another use for them because they are all so cute.
I get the pleasure of going to my relatives house down in Redondo Beach for Christmas this year. They always have the most fabulous parties. They have money and their house is huge and the people that come are always highly educated so I love to pick their brains and converse with them about politics and things they'd think someone of my age wouldn't know about. But I've always loved being able to do that. When I was younger I would always much rather converse with the adults than go play with the other "kids." At least now I can drink with them!

How many holiday parties are you planning on attending this year?

Wednesday Want List: Oxblood

Wednesday Want List: Oxblood

One of the things I love most about fashion is that with a change of the seasons I get to explore a new part of myself and express that side through fashion. As I said in my vlog about my giveaway my favorite nail polish was NYC in Lincoln Center. Because it was oxblood. OXBLOOD IS MY FAVORITE SHADE OF RED YOU GUYS. Sorry, excited much? Anyways, I am beyond thrilled that the fashion world has caught up. About time something I love besides owls be available in mass. Yes, that is coated with just a tiny pit of bitterness about newsprint from last week but whatever. Onto the goods.

  1. Oxblood sweater - Ok, it's not cold in Florida. Well, not by your standards I'm sure. As I write this it is 57 degrees with a high of 77 degrees. I'm wearing a cardigan as I have since the beginning of November where it maybe dipped down to a low of 40. Everyone else probably has snow and sub zero temperatures but not me. I'm toasty in my cardigan. So I love this sweater because I can wear it with nothing over it and it is absolutely ravishing! It's also only $57 from ChicWish.
  2. Oxblood bowler bag is perfect for those who have to wear a coat because your bag goes on the outside. It's nice and roomy to fit all over your necessities in and it's only $76 at Topshop.
  3. The Sequin Side dress is not only a high-low in oxblood but it also has open sides. How many of trends can we fit into one dress? It's obviously a front runner for dress of the year. SO CUTE. It's only $57 at topshop too.
  4. VAIN Velvet Lips Ballerinas shoes are to die for. Aren't those lips cute? Plus they have studs, plus they are in oxblood and they are only  $44 at topshop. Honestly, between the dress the bag and the shoes I'm going to go bankrupt!
  5. Essie is kind of on the expensive side for me as far as nail polish goes. I can't see spending $8 on a bottle of polish I might only use once or twice within a few years but in Oxblood I'd buy it in bulk! It is widely available at many retail stores like Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, ect. So don't get mad because I didn't put a specific link to it. You can find it anywhere.
  6. Lastly these Scrolled Trim Shorts in Oxblood are to die for! I have a pair that isn't quite as cute from Lauren Conrad Kohl's line. Yes, I know gasp I bought something from LC even though I dislike but hey! They  were cute and on clearance and in oxblood and it was last year when there was NOTHING in oxblood. Sue me! These ones however aren't LC's and they are only $45 from ChicWish.
So look, I made it through one whole WWL without putting anything skulls in it. You're welcome. I had to ignore Alexander McQueen's WHOLE line because everything is in skulls and oxblood this season. If I had won that $550 million dollar lottery drawing I'd be dressed head to toe in his stuff.

What's your favorite fall shade?
Do you like the oxblood trend?

Wednesday Want List: Newspaper Print

So, have you heard about my Giveaway? ENTER IT!
Wednesday Want List: Newsprint

Ok, seriously why is it so hard to find ACTUAL newspaper print items? All I can find are dresses made out of newspaper. Excuse me but can we say rain storm?
  1. This vintage Franco Moschino jacket is only available second hand so it's sure to be expensive because Moschino is a couture designer. But if I was rich and I wanted it bad enough and I was a model so I could be sure it would fit, I would get it.
  2. The Sew It Would Seamstress Dress is on Modcloth's Most Wished For List, which means that A LOT of people added that dress to their wishlists. SO WHY ISN'T THERE MORE NEWSPRINT?
  3. This fabric chair is another one of those "If I was Rich..." items since it's a ridiculous $1645! I wouldn't let anyone sit on it. "You might get it dirty" would pop out of my mouth and when they look at me funny I'd end up shouting the price at them. Yeah, I'm nuts. Champagne taste on a tap water budget.
  4. Again, not paying 135 GBP for a bathing suit, even if it is perfect and designed by John Galliano. The answer is no. Save for your camera and put this one away. *sigh*
  5. This is extremely affordable and apparently well worth it. My best friend got this exact print and she said the application was easy enough, and it lasted 10 days without chipping. You can't use the leftover scraps again which was a bummer for her because they are on average $10. But I pay more than that to have my nails done anyways. So this is about right on the money.
  6. So this SHOWER CURTAIN from Bed Bath and Beyond is hilarious and totally something I would put in my bathroom. Although I will admit I'd probably spend way too much time in the bathroom reading the "articles" than I should. It's $40 though so I can't see the value in that.

Rihanna wore a newspaper print dress in her music video for S&M, Sarah Jessica Parker wore a Christian Dior newsprint dress from his spring collection in 2000 for Sex & The City, Lady Gaga wore a newspaper print jacket and so did Ali Larter's character in Legally Blonde (which is what sparked this post). This isn't a new concept. Why has it not been ridiculously recirculated like bell bottoms yet? SO RUDE!

Is there a trend you'd like to see happen? Using the word Fetch doesn't count.

Wednesday Want List: ModCloth Outting

Wednesday Want List: Mod Cloth

So the news just said that 43 million people are expected to travel this weekend all thanks to Thanksgiving (pun intended)! You're going to want a cute outfit to go to all of your Thanksgiving dinners (you do have more than one) don't you? Good. I've got the perfect one, all from ModCloth.com!

  1. This dress is absolutely stunning isn't it? It's the perfect balance between casual and dressy, especially paired with these accessories. So whether you are dressed up for meeting the beau's family for the first time or hanging with your own who's seen you through your sweatpants phase it has you covered.
  2. It's fall, it gets chilly and perhaps with all that cooking heating up the house the in-laws have the A/C cranked up. You'll need this cute cardigan to cover up, but not too much.
  3. What is the perfect outfit without the perfect bag? I'm not the only one who thinks so. This item is currently out of stock but have no fears, it will come back. You'll have to put your name on the wait-list, which I imagine Christmas will come sooner than your shot at this bag.
  4. Shoes make an outfit. You could dress down with flats and be comfortable but the hells makes this already casual outfit more dressy. I'd rather be over dressed than under dressed.
  5. This whimsical necklace will help with any awkward lulls in conversation. If you're an introvert, items like this are perfect because it will have other comes to you to break the ice and give you something to talk about. Unless someone's crazy Uncle tells the story about the time they met an Octopus while in the Navy. I don't have an advice for how to get out of that. Maybe excuse yourself because you have to make sure the cranberry sauce has cranberries in it?
  6. Lastly, add a dash of ultra class to your look with a cute hair accessory. I chose this headband because it fits perfectly with the look and feel and it will go with any hairstyle and mostly any hair-do. If you leave it down or throw it up headbands go with it. This piece also dresses up the outfit without making you feel too overly fancy for the casual parts of the evening.

I hope everyone has a marvelous Thanksgiving!

Wednesday Want List: Lulus.com

Wednesday Want List: Lulu's Afflicate

Today is a special Wednesday Want List, for I am proud to announce that I am now an affiliate with Lulus.com!

LuLus.com started with the vision of providing the latest for the fashionably hip along with providing exceptional value, quality, and superb customer service. Since its inception in 1996, LuLus.com has grown from a mother-daughter dream to one of the web's most outstanding shopping experiences. We offer a select choice of clothing, shoes and accessories. Our brands consist of emerging new designers. We buy in very limited quantities and many of our items come fresh from our designer's studios.

I got so excited that went to Lulu's and did some window shopping. There were so many things that I wanted to get but didn't that I had to create a WWL out of my wishlist!

  1. This Maxi dress would be the only Maxi dress I'd ever wear, even for $73. Naturally because I'm 5 ft I would probably need to get it hemmed, thus the main reason why I own zero maxi dresses, but for this dress I would.
  2. We all know my love for skater dresses provided you caught the WWL Skater Dress edition but the funny thing about this dress is I somehow designed it in my head. Let me explain, I was writing a short story and my character needed a fancy dress. My dress was teal and had mess covered cut outs where the black band is but it's this dress otherwise. When I saw it my jaw dropped and I was like "dude, if that comes in teal I'm getting it" but alas it does not. Weird huh and it's only $39 so it's completely affordable.
  3. I used to have a tulle skirt like this one and I loved it. This one is $42 but look at it, it's just so pretty and it will fit any season. I would pair it with a black with black sequin tank top or maybe this one and wear it to a New Years party!
  4.  Skulls. Heels, guys this is me we are talking about. This one is obvious and at only $44 these are a steal!
  5. Studded Navy Blazer. Now I have a black blazer I could add some studs to but who wants to spend time doing that? (Just kidding, I'm probably going home and doing that tonight.) I actually love the cut on this one. It fastens mid-waist but only goes down to the pant line. I loved that the blazer was paired with wine colored jeans. A lot of people have a hard time with navy but I think this essentially red white and blue outfit is perfect.
  6. This is a poison necklace by Wild Fox. I love poison rings and poison necklaces. Now you don't have to put poison or anything in it really. But if you add glitter to it you could sprinkle it around. You know for all my fairy or Ke$ha lovers out there. Now you'll probably balk at the price, a whopping $75 but it's rose gold and with all those "We trade cash for Gold" commercials out there you have to know that it's worth something. But who would want to get rid of something so cute? Not moi, that's for sure.

What's on your Lulu's Wishlist?

Thrifting in St Petersburg Florida

If you are ever in the Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg Florida area there are a few places that are a few rules and a few places that you must go.

First, you must go the first Saturday of the month. You honestly are not experiencing everything if you aren't going down 1st Street in St. Petersburg for the 1st Street Market. It only happens on the First Saturday of every month and you get all sorts of vendors and it's different each month. They sell everything you can think of and more from jewelry to candles to exquisite metal work to these weird stuffed animal purses where the mouth was a zipper and you could stuff them with whatever. They came in cool patterns and were shaped like the Ugly Dolls but unfortunately the lady wouldn't let me take a picture.

The best thing about the 1st Street Market is that these vendors line their tents up in front of all the vintage, retro and thrift store fronts so you feel like you're in an indoor outdoor flea market, albeit a tiny one.
Three Major Stops on 1st Street for your vintage finds:

All Sewn Up - Big Cartel Online Store
I always love their clothing but it just doesn't fit me. I mainly come for the jewelry. In fact I bought a lovely necklace for just $10 on my last visit.

Art Pool Gallery
Ok, so I'm a little biased for this review. Mainly because I love it and because Brittany worked here. So by association I know (?) the owner. I've met her once and was instantly a fan. She explained about the art work and how long it took her to paint the walls and set up the fixtures and simply from hearing her talk about this place I knew that she wasn't just some trendy shop owner but a true artist and that her heart and soul went into making this space as grand as it is. I love that it is always changing but always looks and feels exactly the same. You have to pay attention or you'll miss something. You could spend hours and not completely see everything. It's filled with tons of local artists goods. There's three pieces to Art Pool. When you first walk in you are presented with a choice. Forward, to the left or to the right. If you go to your left or straight you walk into the clothing area. There's tons of boots, knick knacks, jewelry, odds and ends and the largest selection of Mens vintage wear that you'll find in any of the shops in St. Petersburg.

I wouldn't be me if I didn't find the skulls!

So freaking adorable. These would be perfect for a Dia De Los Muertos altar!
I'm half Mexican guys, this appeals to me for a reason.
I'm actually super depressed I couldn't celebrate this with my gramps. Next year for sure.

All the purses, gimmie!

Looks like I make a guest appearance in this one.
I didn't notice the mirror until I was editing this - whoops!

I love all of this but they are real bones and I just... yeah vegetarian...can't wear bones.
I follow a more Native American mindset. Where if you are going to hunt an animal and kill it for food or clothing then waste not want not. Use every part of that animal and say a pray of thanks for their sacrifice.
But I'm not Native American, I didn't hunt that animal and kill it to survive.
I live in modern times were life is precious and death can be avoided.

I love gemstone jewelry. I really wanted this quarts point necklace that matches those earrings but with Christmas and my move coming up I can't really spend a lot of money. :( Boo.

To your right you will be transported into a whimsical art gallery. There's display cases with jewelry of all kinds and if you look on the walls, some of the silliest, creepiest but coolest paintings you'll ever find. My taste is very broad and this gallery encompasses it all. Ivory of course spotted the only painting of a dog and went nuts. PUP-PEE! Everything was a puppy, so naturally we were like where's the puppy? Until she pointed them out we had no clue there were so many dogs! Dog heads on hangers instead of human heads, on jewelry, in pictures, on canvases. Ivory has the whole "I Spy Puppies" down.

There is now a cafe open where you can get healthy vegetarian and vegan eats (there's stuff for you meat eaters too) when you're shopping that just opened up. Brittany and I didn't get to try it this time because it actually opened on Tuesday and we were there last Saturday. :( But we'll be back and trust me, I will sample the food.

Misred
Brit is usually the one that goes bananas in this store. Especially with the shoes. I love their store fronts and of course their jewelry. Brittany actually got a purse this time around! Ivory enjoyed the music, dancing and such until Brittany wanted to pay for her purchase. She threw a fit and almost slammed her head on the ground but Auntie Sara has this song-and-dance down and I was able to place my hand under her head before she could make an even bigger scene. These lovely ladies were very patient with her and that was greatly appreciated.

Brit's purchase was actually not shoes this time. Color me shocked.

What, we read the same blogs? Huh.

There are tons of other vintage stores of note on this street but those are the top three we ALWAYS go in and we ALWAYS buy from. It's weird because we like stuff from other stores but we can't seem to ever get out of any of these three without buying something. All of these shops are friendly with each other too. We went into one store and someone asked if they had a beret and the girl instead of just saying 'no we don't' actually directed them to another store. So we went and guess what? The store she directed them to in fact had a couple of berets for sale. These people aren't just friendly neighbors, they are friends. That makes it awesome to shop this area because they know what is not only in their store but in their friends stores and that helps make your experience better if you are looking for a specific piece like that customer was.

Music!
If you're craving music, Daddy Kool Records is your go-to for everything from classic to current and while it's mostly rock and indie you can find some other stuff. They keep their vinyl in the back and that's where the good stuff is at!
Plus, they always have tickets free of service charge for any of the shows at local venues like State Theater (since it's across the street) and sometimes Jannus and a couple of other venues. They also have lots of in-store performances or signings when certain acts come into town, which I love.

Books!
One of the major downfalls for me is that these thrift stores aren't heavy on the book side of things. They mainly do clothes, knick-knacks and jewelry. That's not bad but I love old books and that's normally my first stop because I can't fit into most of the clothes in these stores. So to get my fix I stop into Haslams, and it's conveniently located across the street from Art Pool! Haslams is one of the largest, and oldest bookstores in Florida and it often has a lot of book signings and celebrities stop by over the years. It's also a family run business.

Books and old people - basically all Florida is. ;)
 Food!
Brit and I were starving. It takes us about an hour in traffic to get to St Petersburg and we knew we'd have to have Ivory to her Grandmas by 3 or 4 so by the time we got there it was already noon, we didn't want to waste time eating we wanted to shop. Well, Brit ended up calling out of work for the night so we could actually stay and eat. We ended up at Acropolis Taverna. I had no idea there were so many locations! Tampa, Ybor, and Riverview in addition to the one we went to in St. Pete. We weren't sure what was going to be good but Brit and I live in a heavily Greek area so we like the Greek food but this wasn't typical Greek Food.  We ordered this appetizer... and decided that even if our food sucked, we'd drive down for this:

Sure there was tzatziki and Gyro's and Pita's and Dolmades but some of it was like "what?" For example, I got the Thessaloniki. Now, yes that is a town in Greece but here it's Mediterranean vegetables grilled in a pita with Baba Ghannouj (see Wedding Crashers for that pronunciation). I've heard of Baba Ghannouj, but had no idea what it was. So I asked. Eggplant something or other and I tuned out. Not an eggplant fan. Brussel Sprouts, Spinach and Eggplant are on my "will not eat" list. Sorry. So instead of the baba ghannouj I got tzatziki because who doesn't love that stuff? Anyways the verdict for the Thessaloniki is: OHMYGLOB YUM! The Mediterranean veggies ended up being peppers, squash and zucchini. Yes, yes, YES!
Brit got fried felafel on a pita and it didn't look good. She also said it tasted awful. So I gave her a few bites of mine and thankfully she got steak fries, so she ate that and finished off the appetizer.

Ivory refused to eat everything we gave her (puffs, baby food, pasta, pita) but continued to throw a fit about being hungry. She wanted to get up and run around, so much so that she tried to slide out of the high chair like Houdini and come stranger helped us corral her back into her seat. She was just a little monster. Who could blame her, being couped up in a car or in our arms because we wouldn't let her touch anything at the stores.

There's a vegan restaurant called Leafy Greens that Brit wanted to go to but wasn't sure I'd like, but I was willing to try it out. She kept going "I don't want to go there and you say there's nothing you can eat. Plus they charge you for water." So we didn't go there. But it is on my list of "restaurants to try" so we'll see.

I take pictures of my stuff when I'm bored.

So after that ordeal we decided to head home. It was the worlds longest drive once Ivory woke up screaming bloody murder but other than that not a bad day out on the town!

What are some of your favorite local thrift stores?
What types of things do you like to get at thrift stores?

Wednesday Want List: Patriotic

So the poll results are in.... I knew in making this post that I could either be packing for another country and renewing my passport to celebrating and staying home with my family.

I am so proud of the United States. I was literally crying happy tears for all the victories that were won. Tammy Baldwin is the first openly gay Senator to be elected and almost every Republican wing nut who made some ridiculous statement along the regards that if rape occurs it's God's will or that the vagina has biological counter effects for rape were NOT elected and that several states that were voting on Marriage Equality have passed laws allowing for same sex couples to be married. Huge victories and I am just so proud to be a citizen of a country that says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" and means it.

Anyways, you guys are sick of politics, as am I, back to what you really came here for... THE CLOTHES!
Wednesday Want List: Patriotic
This week I wanted to do a few looks since yesterday was Election Day. My friends and I have had a contingency plan, that if things didn't go how we hoped that we were all fleeing the country for our sanity. So in preparation for that I did three looks that were seemingly patriotic.
Obviously, I am going to be wearing Look Two or Three on my way to the airport! Obviously, I'll be American at heart and I'll definitely keep you posted on where I'm headed to... Just kidding I'm killing it in Look One. I'd never abandon America, are you crazy? I love this place!

So that's it for this week's WWL. I'm not sure if I like the new look that I've been using for affiliate want lists. I like that it is cleaner but yeah that's about it. What do you think about it? Do you like the other one more? Or do you hate them both?

Enough of the special edition WWL's or are you against structured posts?

Wednesday Want List: Nasty Gal

This morning is a bit of a treat for you, not only do I have a guest post up over at, Julia's Blog entitled There's No Wine In Mom, so please do go check that out. I'm writing about one of my favorite subjects, the ever lovely Princess Ivory.
Nasty Gal Want List

But also this week's Wednesday Want List is extra special. I have recently become affiliates with Nasty Gal and I wanted to make a special Wednesday Want List to introduce to you some of their new products as well as introduce them as affiliates. Nasty Gal is one of my favorite places to draw inspiration from concerning style and over all look. For at least a year I have gone on their website and coveted numerous looks.

Nasty Gal started out as an eBay store by one Sophia Amoruso and from there her story just sucks you in. "At the age of 22, Sophia settled in San Francisco and turned her love of vintage and her fantastic eye into the eBay store Nasty Gal Vintage. With only her killer instinct and intense passion for the project (along with a few hundred bucks), she moved out of the city and set up Nasty Gal's headquarters in her apartment. She did everything herself: mined for gems at Goodwill, shot & styled each look, wrote product descriptions, and did her best to spread the word online. Each week, her stock would spark bidding wars among tastemakers across the globe—from Australia all the way to New York. Soon she started asking friends for help. Eventually, those friends became employees. Nasty Gal moved into its own studio space and its own URL, leaving eBay in the dust to build what would become one of the most coveted fashion brands of our time. " - Nasty Gal About Us

But I'm not the only one raving about this company. There are plenty of others out there who already love them. Refinery29, WhoWhatWear, and a multitude of other fashion websites have raved about or included their products in posts, lists, ect. Basically they all say the same thing, Nasty Gals Do It Better.

Nasty Gals Do It Better.

What do you think of Nasty Gal's clothing, like it, love it, or leave it?

What I Am Wearing

Happy Saturday guys, while I'm off gallivanting at Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando I'll leave you to gawk at my fabulous dress that I thrifted some years ago and of course my silly face.

Dress: thrifted
Belt: Brittany's
Necklace: Handmade - $2.99 for chain, $5 for quartz crystal
Ring: My mothers
Tights: Gift (they are reversible and my favorite)
Shoes: Madden Girl $14 on clearance at Marshals.

Wednesday Want List: Skulls

Wednesday Want List: Skulls

1. Floral Skull Sweater at SheInside.com | 2. Broken Heart and Skull  Dress at Grindstore.com | 3. Skull Skinny Jeans by Nasty Gal
4. Skull Embossed and Studded Satchel at Boohoo | 5. Skull Ring by Aoud | 6. Skull Bracelet by Gina Tricot

Ok you guys, I really tried to hold myself back with this one. I know almost every week I barage you with skulls. I can't help it. I want all the skulls ok? EVERY single one of them. If you follow me on polyvore you have seen my collection of skulls and I just added a ton to "my items" because well, duh. But it's getting closer to Halloween and that means that skulls are invariably a part of that. ;) Really, it's just an excuse for me to go bananas. I did however make a goal of not making it entirely Alexander McQueen. See, I'm not the only one who thinks skulls are the epitome of fashion! Roll your eyes at me, see if I care. McQueen is a fashion God and if he and his designers like to use skulls with everything who are we to judge? That's right, we're not. Or are we?

  1. Look at that sweater. What could be cuter than a skull sweater? That's right, there's nothing cuter than a skull sweater. Except maybe if there was a tiny puppy in it. But that's not scary. $30
  2. Obviously if there is a skull print dress, I will find it and buy it and I will rock it. It's only $39 (24 GBP). You think I'm joking? I almost bought it. Until shipping it to the US made it run $70. :( No skull dress for me. It's not even black either. It's navy and red and white. So it's more patriotic than anything else. Well, maybe it will go on sale? Or maybe you will all chip in and get it for me for X-mas? If you did I promise I'd save all my skulls items until next Halloween! Unless you like them too and in which case, cyber high five!
  3. Skull pants. SKULL PANTS YEW GUISE. These ones are from Nasty Gal, whom I love. These puppies are a whooping $78 though. So like the dress they'll sit in my puppy-dog-eye pile.
  4. Now, most people think that if it's got skulls on it that it has to be all black and gothic and while looking at these all put together, yeah it kind of does look like that. But then there is this satchel. Subtly they embossed skulls onto the leather and applied round studs. Granted the bag comes in gray and black as well but look, I can be diplomatic and try to include something for everyone. $60
  5. I'm not sure if I've used this ring before. I feel like I have but I love it. I really should just break down and get it but it's $100 and if I can't spend that on an article of clothing I am sure not going to spend it on Jewelry. I don't even wear that much jewelry. I'm more of a gemstone wearer too. But it's cute. Oi, my internal monologue on this one is coming out.
  6. So perhaps it is best that I end with a cute and affordable $15 skull bracelet from Gina Tricot. Because really I could get my skull fix and be done with this. That is until I remember that dress....
Are you guys sick of me always including skulls?

Wednesday Want List: Pumpkin

Wednesday Want List: Pumpkin Colors

Today's Wednesday Want List features shades of pumpkin! Most people cringe at the sight of anything orange but fall is the perfect time of year, with all the leaves changing to match, to wear your orange colored items with pride. Plus, with Halloween coming up if you love the holiday as much as me or if you love any excuse to dress up this helps you flex your fashion muscles and expand out of your comfort zone with an excuse, "But it's Halloween!"

  1. This blouse blends my love of fall colors perfectly with my love of studs. The subtle accent of studs on the collar makes this look chic rather than another boring orange collared shirt. At $40 you can pair it with black pants for a cute Halloween outfit for a party or some jeans as pictured above and wear it any time.
  2. This cute dress is from ModCloth and has a cute little cutout on the breast that reveals just enough to be sexy but not sleazy. At only $45 you can pair it with a cream or brown cardigan and the shoes from #4 on this list and you have a cute fall look.
  3. Jason Wu makes another appearance in my hearts DO WANT list, this one sadly is $2,238 though making it extremely out of my budget. Maybe when I win the lottery dude.
  4. These shoes are so cute. All my Brits reading this can get it for 70 GBP (shipping is free to U.K) but my mainland U.S people have to fork out $110, PLUS shipping. The color shown here is nude leather, which sounds weird since these are supposed to be "pumpkin" but it looks like the same color as my pumpkin chai frap that I get from Starbucks. That counts right? They do come in a much brighter orange called Pumpkin Suede, but I thought I'd give you some relief from all the orange. :)
  5. Skulls, what else is new? Doesn't it seem like every week I have something skull or polka dot related on my want list? Told you I love them. Now, I'm not a big fan of orange but I love this skull ring from Samira 13. Are you sitting down? I hope you are because get this, it's a $8534.00 ring! *faints*
The description reads "[This] silver ring from Samira 13 features a gold-tone band at the back and a wide silver pave-encrusted front with a cluster of coral skulls." That's it? That's all you have to brag about for a ring that costs as much as a car? Oi vey. Add this to my "When I Win The Lotto" Want List. It's so cute though.
  6. This Alexa Snake Print Leather Bag by Mulberry falls a little bit closer to affordable (compared to that ring) because it costs $1,904. I still can't afford it but if I ever were to purchase an orange bag it would be this one. Look at it, it's fabulous!
Would you wear anything in a shade of pumpkin?

Wednesday Want List: Owl Love You Forever

Wednesday Want List: Owl Love You Forever

1. Owl Short Heels by Melissa & Jason Wu | 2.  Owl Tassel Bowler Bag by ASOS |  3. Owl Bookends by Patch NYC
4.  Owl Pocket Watch Necklace by Umbrella Laboratory | 5. Owl Pillow by Patch NYC | 6. Owl Across Body by Yenzi

If you've know me personally, you know owls are my favorite animal. Or maybe have frequented my myspace back in 2009 when MySpace was still relevant. (Side Note: I love you JT but I'm not going back to MySpace no matter how sexy you make it. I have enough social media to keep up with as is dude.) Then maybe you saw my owl tattoo? No? Well, then you get another little glimpse of me now don't you?

  1. It figures that I would love those shoes. Jason Wu, hot pink and owls. Need I say more? They are 85 GBP, plastic and bubblegum scented. YUM!
  2. Handbags are my Achilles heel in fashion, so it makes sense that I want to order that bag next week right? It's $56 though so I'm sure that will be on my "wait til it goes on sale" list and I'll forget about it.
  3. I've been eying these bookends at Target for two weeks now. I have so many bookends though. I wonder if I'll break down and get those too? I need to stop buying things! I'm moving for Pete's sake, I can't take all this crap with me!
  4. That steampunk style necklace is made from a pocket watch that the designer put wings with. Totally cute and it's only $20!
  5. This pillow is also from Patch NYC for Target and yes, I've been eying it too. There's also another set of Owl throw pillows that Brittany and myself have had to save each other from. We suck at sticking to our lists when we go to Target.
  6. This cute owl bag is from an online store in the UK, oh those Brits and their brilliant fashion! This store had tons of cute owl themed accessories. This bag is only $55 and my favorite part about it has to either be those eyelashes or the bow. I mean c'mon, do owls even have eyelashes? So cute though.

What's your favorite animal and have you entered the giveaway yet?

Wednesday Want List: Fall Fashion

Wednesday Want List: Fall Fashion

1. Cable Knit Sweater by Ralph Lauren | 2. Cable Knit Dress by Carven | 3. Knit Hat by Wet Seal
4. Tan Slouch Mid Calf Boot by Soda | 5. Chocolate Brown Satchel by Kangol | 6. Patterned Scarf by M Missoni

I love Autumn. It's my favorite season. Probably because I love the colors and I love sweaters. I love cardigans and cable knit and jackets and coats but that's getting way too into Winter and this is about Autumn. This is about browns and oranges and forest greens, dark purples, grays, navy and rusty reds and mustard yellows. Yes, this is about fall!

  1. So obviously I had to include a cable knit sweater. This one by Ralph Lauren is $265 but looks like one I have that is a knock off I got from Ross.
  2. There's a nice tan sweater dress. I love sweater dresses with leggings underneath and then boots. So cute. This one by Carven is $825, yikes! But I bought a cute red sweater dress for $20 at Sidecca a store inside the mall in Santa Clarita Ca and this is never going to go out of style. Marshalls and TJ Maxx will have some soon as well that you can get for much less but still as comfy.
  3. The beanie has a little bow on it! So cute. On days where I don't want to do anything fancy to my hair I throw on a knit beanie and done. $11 at Wet Seal.
  4. Autumn would be nothing if you didn't have a cute pair of brown boots to accommodate those cooler temperatures. In Florida its too hot to wear these during the summer months so the second it gets cool, my boots come out. Try the nice Mid Calf boots by Soda. They look snazzy and are only $25.
  5. Now I wouldn't be me if I didn't sneak a purse in there. Sure, you can buy brown purses and use them at any time but this is a satchel. Totally different, or at least that is how I am justifying it to myself and it's only $50.
  6. Again, I understand that scarves are now considered year round and with this one from M Missoni being $200 I'd wear it all year around too! But there are plenty of places to get scarves like this for a lot less. I just loved the pattern and colors.

That's it for this weeks Wednesday Want List and I hope you enjoyed it.

Wednesday Want List: Polka Dots

WEDNESDAY WANT LIST: Polka Dots

1. Polka Dot Body Suit by Chiara | 2. Polka Dot Dress by Mod Cloth | 3. Polka Dot Scallop Shorts by House of Fraser
4.Polka Dot Shoes by Brian Atwood | 5.
Polka Dot Messenger Bag by Motel | 6.Polka Dot Tights

This week's Wednesday Want List is something you should have seen coming for a long time. Partially inspired by Dot, this week's Make Up Monday post I bring to you 6 of the cutest things featuring you guessed it - POLKA DOTS!

I actually own more dresses with polka dots than anything and I do have polka dot tights & a polka dot bag but those shorts? GIMMIE. Also, the Polka Dot Bag by Motel? If you live in the UK it's free ship & returns and students get a 20% discount. How awesome is that? More retailers need to offer student discounts. After all, they are paying for school and they will most likely wear these things to class where other students will ask them where they got that cool dress or handbag and that's the best advertising out there!

The Best of New York Fashion Week

Best of Fashion Week!

So we did it, we survived another fashion week and things will go back to normal until Spring of next year where we go through this again and NYC has yet another blast of fashion for us. Right now everyone is releasing their top picks from Fashion week and I will be no exception.

So these are mine (and in no particular order mind you)...
  1.  Dennis Basso
  2.  Ralph Lauren New York
  3.  Jason Wu
  4. Rodarte
  5. Zac Posen
  6.  Carolina Herrera
  7.  Anna Sui
  8. Oscar de la Renta
  9.  Oscar de la Renta
I am quite surprised that Jason Wu is only on here once, but not so surprized to find Oscar de la Renta on here twice. Another thing that surprises me is no Marc Jacobs, no Diane Von Furstenberg, no Calvin Kline or a bunch of my other usual favorites. I am not surprised by my loving either black or bright colors but I am definitely pleased to see some pale colors in there. The Zac Posen piece is a favorite cut of mine for dresses and I am please that I like the color. I'm pretty sure number 7, Anna Sui is my favorite out of all of them. I obviously did these in no order but I love the style.

I think the one show I was most disappointed with was Jeremy Scott. Some of those items....

In what world would anyone wear this? I felt bad for the model. What print is this: cow or  maybe giraffe? I'm completely confused. The hat which I think was meant to resemble the popular snapbacks looks more like a construction workers hard hat. I have loved some of the pieces Jeremy Scott has done, for example:

This dress on Hayley Williams of Paramore is fabulous. Maybe because it combines my love of black with my love of color. Hayley caught a lot of guff for wearing this dress to the Grammy's in 2011 but I thought she looked really good. So I guess my question is what went wrong this season Jeremy? Why am I shaking my head at you?

What are your favorite looks from Fashion Week? Or maybe your not-so-favorite looks from Fashion Week?

Wednesday Want List: Chevron

WEDNESDAY WANT LIST: Chevron Print

1. Chevron Swimsuit by Fables by Barrie | 2. Belted Chevron Stripe Tube Dress by  Charlotte Russe | 3. Chevron coat by Matthew Williamson
4.Tilly Aztec Woven Chevron Flats by BooHoo.com | 5. Chevron Bracelet by
House of Harlow 1960  | 6. Chevron Color Block Tote by J by Jasper Conran

Wow, sorry guys I didn't realize that this wasn't scheduled at all but left on draft mode! :( Talk about a sleepy night last night but here is today's WWL! Enjoy.

This week's WWL features the much sought after and highly popular Chevron Print. I do believe my favorite House of Harlow 1960's bracelet has again made my WWL and is barely holding onto that spot after finding the Chevron Swimsuit from ModCloth! It's in the exact bathing suit style that flatters my body... Unfortunately it is sold by the piece (top and bottoms are separate) and is completely out of my price range as far as bathing suit purchases go.

Another top contender is the coat by Matthew Williamson! It is getting closer to coat season for most of you. As for me, I'll be roasting in Florida during the autumn months so a coat is just out of the question but I love the fall colors in that coat.

That's it for this week's Wednesday Want list. So tell me,
What's on your Want List?

Wednesday Want List: Back to School

Wednesday Want List: Back to School

1.Sugar Skull T-Shirt by Oaklandish | 2. Burberry Double Breasted Wool Coat | 3. American Rag Skinny Jeans in Black
 4.  Converse, in Teal  | 5. Brown Necklace by Wallish | 6.  Jansport  Backpack in Hot Pink

I'm sure everyone has started their classes by now and seen what everyone is wearing? My schools always started right after my birthday and one year I actually had to go to school on my birthday. I was so mad. But some of you lucky ducks just started this week after Labor Day. When I was in high school I was a bit of a rocker. I basically only wore band t-shirts, jeans, converse and hoodies. So I did a little back to school shopping so you can see exactly what would have been on my want list for school.
